Happy 2010!
You may have noticed a few changes on campus. Construction for our new addition and renovation is underway and we are thrilled that this much needed project is becoming a reality!
While the employees of Malkin Construction are hard at work - school will continue to go on as scheduled and there should be very little interruption to the children's days. There will, however, most likely be adjustments that we as adults will experience. We are asking that the parents and teachers be patient, flexible and understanding in the event that there are changes to our regular routines. If there are any questions, comments or suggestions regarding the construction - please address them with either one of us, Joe Budd, Stu Buhrendorf or Mr. Pesce. Unless there is an urgent safety issue - please do not address the construction employees directly.
Mr. Pesce has outlined the following details for us to be aware of:
There will be no construction deliveries between the hours of 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM, 12 PM and 2 PM and between the hours of 3 PM and 4 PM Workers for the construction activity will arrive at the school site between the hours of 6:30 AM and 7 AM All workers will wear identification and not utilize any facilities within the school Only the construction manager and his assistant will be entering the building to confer with me All workers will park on the green playing field and will not access the new two-lane driveway Student drop-off at the front of the building will not be altered After school activities such as Above and Beyond must utilize the front and side of the building for parking After school activity pickup of children must be conducted via the office entrance or the Melville Avenue entrance The rear playground and entrance cannot be used after 4 PM Meanwhile - the rest of this school year continues to be full of wonderful activities for every member of the Stratfield Community - parents, teachers and children alike! Check the school calendar to find out all of the events that the PTA has in store for the children.
