AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Above and Beyond
Above and Beyond is an enrichment program designed to provide students with interesting, educational and creative after school activities at an affordable price. All classes are held at Stratfield School so children can enjoy a variety of class options in a safe and familiar environment without having to leave the premises. Classes begin at 3:40 pm and run until 4:40 pm. To ensure the safety of the children, each child must be picked up and signed out by a parent. Walkers may NOT leave on their own; there is NO bus transportation home from these activities.

Classes begin the week of April 5th for the Spring Session.

Community Kids
Community Kids is a program that teaches our students about the importance of volunteerism and community service by reaching out to those less fortunate than ourselves. We hope to accomplish this through curriculum-related projects and activities and by encouraging Stratfield School character traits. Meetings are held after school in the cafeteria on the first Monday of each month. Sign-up forms are sent out via the Friday Flier whenever a meeting is scheduled, and can also be found here.

Our meetings in the past have included a highly successful Backpack Relief effort, where students sorted and put together school items collected from Stratfield School's Hurricane Katrina Backpack Relief effort. The children also wrote letters to help inspire and give the children receiving these backpacks hope, and to let them know there are other children who care about them. Last November, students decorated goody bags and filled them with candy collected during the school's Annual Candy and Costume Drive. They also made coloring books for children at the Department of Children and Families in Bridgeport. During the holiday season, our kids had a great time decorating holiday cookies for the newly opened Operation Hope Pantry which services the greater Bridgeport/Fairfield area.

Kids Club Inclement Weather Policy
There will be NO morning Kids Club when Fairfield Public Schools are delayed due to inclement weather.
There will be NO afternoons Kids Club when Fairfield Public Schools CLOSE early due to inclement weather.
